Bioshock Little Sister Amigurumi

Posted 04/11/2010

Amigurumi Crochet Little Sister from Bioshock

in the style of the Bioshock 2 Little Sisters

Because every Big Daddy needs a Little Sister to protect, and since it was requested and hinted many times by my awesome readers, I whipped up an amigurumi Little Sister for my Big Daddy. I took notes and will be publishing the pattern shortly but haven’t time to try to make sense of all the cryptic scrawlings together yet. It was just too exciting to hold off on posting the photos.

Her clothes and hair are in the style of the Bioshock 2 Little Sister, and though I think there is still some tweaking to do, I am pretty happy with it. The Adam needle is a separate piece with a yarn needle stuck in the end. I didn’t give her a face, because I thought about it and decided that anything embroidered or applied was likely to look cartoony and not as eerie and vacant as the Little Sisters are. Not having a face I think, speaks to the altered uniform states all of them are in, not really there at all. She’s not aged or bloodied, to match her Big Daddy, true to a yarn representation of something messy, bloody, dirty and worn, but made of yarn, so none of those things.

Would you be willing to post some of the notes that you did take? I would really appreciate it. I’m wanting to make a doll similar to this, and I think I could figure out the skirt I wanted. Really all I need is a basic doll pattern for her. Oh, also, do you have any tips on how to embroider hair on a doll??? Thanks so much! ~Julia

      Hi

I was wondering are you going to be posting the pattern for the little sister soon? I’m planning on suprising my b/f with a big daddy and little sister for x-mas and since I’m sure I’ll have to redo the dolls several times before I get it right. I wanted to have plenty of time. =) Thanks

I will try. Sadly the notes I took were really bad and incomplete… very difficult to decipher, and I have not had time or really the motivation to re-make her. Maybe at some point down the line but not likely soon. 🙁

Just wondering if you sell these? I’m really interesting in buying the big daddy or the little sister (or both!) Thanks.

No sorry, because of the amount of time it takes to make them, I would have to charge way too much money to make it worth my while. You can always learn to crochet and start working on your own 🙂 Lots of folks enlist friends, moms, girlfriends to make them too!

You are not a bad person. You are a wonderful and talented person to be able to make up all of these patterns. Very few people can figure out what needs to be done to make it look good. We are all so grateful that you are willing to share. We would be very happy with any of your notes. Thank you for all of the patterns you have posted.

Sadly, I am a bad bad person. I found all my notes for little sister, except for… I did what I often do, and as I got past the waist of the skirt, I stopped writing… I was all “Oh I’ll totally remember this then scrawl it down before I forget, it’s just a couple rounds I mean… no big right?” then I got distracted, put her down, picked her back up weeks later, and there it is, gone… I have been meaning to dig her up and look at the skirt and try to suss it out by eyeball… which might not be a bad idea… or maybe I can post everything but the skirt and see if I can sort it out later. Soooo disorganized! Sorry 🙁 Best of intentions but when it comes to follow through, I am sometimes a tool. I’ll see what I can do and try to get something together in the next week or so 🙂

Yay! You’ll have to be sure and send me a photo of your BD when he’s done so I can post him in the community gallery. It’s all naked with just a NobyNoby Boy right now. Thanks for the lovely comment 🙂
